ARABIC

The Arabic language is unique in its significance to Islam, as the language of the Holy Qur'an. Al-Huda's curriculum begins a sequence dealing with the development of functional proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing the Arabic language. Interactive tools are used to develop skills in active listening and oral communication which require active comprehension. The ultimate goal of Arabic instruction at Al-Huda is that students develop such a proficiency in the language that they are able to use Arabic as a tool to learn other disciplines, like religion, math or science.

The Arabic curriculum empowers the students with a proficiency in the language as to be learned and active community members.
All topics covered in the Arabic courses are through the lens of Al Thaqafa al Arabiya al Islamiya, which is a newer method of teaching Arabic. Through this , Arabic is not only seen as a tool to learn Islam and the Qur'an, but is a way to learn about Islamic history and culture. Arabic lessons are centered around Islamic themes of art, religion, culture and history not around Arab nationalistic ideals.
